Anika Ahammad

Hiya! My name is Anika (uh-nee-kuh) and I'm a junior at William & Mary majoring in American Studies. My experience as a Bengali-American and first-generation and low-income student at W&M hasn’t been the best. I came across First-Gen Place through the First-Generation/Low-Income (FGLI) student organization at W&M, and I decided to intern at FGP because I want to uplift other students like me because they deserve better. If I can make a difference for someone else, no matter how small, it would mean the world to me. Outside of FGP, I love to read fiction, weightlift, and make arts & crafts, especially crochet.
